As 2013 comes to a close and as we welcome 2014, I am happy to introduce to you a site where I will post my thoughts and reflections on a variety of matters. I am not sure how often I will be able to write, but I will endeavor to share my ideas on matters related to my business, philosophical and philanthropic interests. I hope you will find it stimulating and worthwhile reading.
I believe in free markets and I believe in individual liberty. These two, big ideas were not things I adequately learned in school. As I have interacted with people from all over the world and in many different industries and occupations, these compelling ideas have arisen again and again. I hope to share some of my experiences and the lessons I have taken away from them with you.
In the 21st Century, the ability for almost anybody to have access to the world’s best knowledge is just a click away. Free societies remove obstacles to sharing and acquiring this knowledge. The benefits at both an individual and societal level are immeasurable.
I am lucky in many ways, including being a passionate, lifetime learner. Through various endeavors, I am fortunate to be able to share what I have learned and to learn from others in the process. Wisdom comes from both success and failure. Applying that wisdom is what helps make for a better world and a better life.
Thanks for reading,
Eddie
Excellent idea. First of all, I would like to hear your thoughts on how we can deny elites in Washington more control of our daily lives by distorting free markets and imposing unwanted rules. Secondly, I would appreciate your insights on leading complex organizations in the 21st Century.
Look forward to following and learning. Happy New Year!
